Paul Lundin studied at the University
of Iowa with Allen Ohmes where he earned Bachelor and Masters Degrees
in Violin Performance. Currently he is a free-lance violinist in Southeast Wisconsin.
He has performed with the Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra,
Waukesha Symphony Orchestra, Festival
City, and Green Bay Symphony. He has held the post of Concertmaster
for the Racine Symphony Orchestra since May of 2000.
He has been heard as soloist on several occasions in Racine in performances of “Brandenburg Concerto #4”, “Scheherezade”,
“Three Pieces from Schindler’s List” and Mozart's "Sinfonia Concertante".
In addition to performing, he has taught at the University of Wisconsin at Stevens
Point and currently holds a position of adjunct instructor at Concordia
University in Mequon, Wisconsin. He also maintains a studio of over 15 students.
Before moving to Wisconsin
in 1999, he was a fulltime member of the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra from 1992-1999, was on the faculty of Northwestern State University
and Centenary College and concertmaster
of the Longview (Texas) Symphony.
He received critical acclaim as soloist in Longview
playing Erich Korngold’s “Concerto for Violin and Orchestra” in 1998.
Paul is a native of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan
where continues a musical presence as director of "Strings on the Bay", a professional chamber music series. This series
is sponsored by Bay de Noc Community College in Escanaba, Michigan.
Paul resides in Fredonia, Wisconsin with his wife and
daughter.
